With Joy

An encounter with Jesus leaves an indelible mark on your life. It certainly changed the lives of the shepherds. They lived out a lonely, mundane existence and I am sure that they didn't have much to look forward to - besides tending their sheep. However, after they had seen Jesus they returned to their 'old' lives with renewed energy and perspective.

"The Shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told." - Luke 2:20

How often do we go through the Christmas period and then feel empty and drained? We don't feel as much 'joy' as we would like to and we dread going back to our 'normal' lives. It is my prayer for us that the birth of Jesus would change our perspective and that we would be marked with joy.

May you take the Joy of Christ with you always. Let it be a mark upon your soul.

"Joy is prayer; joy is strength: joy is love; joy is a net of love by which you can catch souls." -
