Preparation - Advent Word

Preparing for Christmas is such an exciting event for many people - although it can also be really stressful and tiring for others. In our preparation for the actual day of Christmas we can easily get side-tracked with our lists of food, gifts, decorations, and travel arrangements. None of these things are bad in themselves, but it goes without saying that they should not be the ONLY focus of our preparations.

As we enter into the final week of preparations for Christmas I pray that we would all keep Jesus in our thoughts and that he would appear at number one on our list. All of the material preparations can never prepare our hearts for the birth of Jesus. I urge us all to spend some quality time in reflecting on the Incarnation - the word made flesh - the coming of our Messiah.
